Resident Frank shares his life journey, full of dedication to both his family and his community.
Recalling his early years, Frank remembers the days spent working on a dairy farm alongside his father, preparing for a lifetime of hard work. ‘I went to grade 8 and then went and worked in the council with my father, and later on I went to work in a sawmill,’ Frank recalls.
Frank’s ambitions went beyond the fields, and a few years later he ventured into building houses. ‘I lived in a small house and we were 10 siblings, so I used to buy scrap timber to build extra room,’ Frank shares. ‘This ended up leading me into the building industry. I taught myself.’
Frank married his beloved wife, Elaine, and a few years later, they moved to an area where they found themselves far from any church. Taking matters into their own hands, they started their own church group. ‘Elaine and her best friend started a church group for many years,’ Frank recalls. ‘I served as the preacher and also spent two years as a missionary Bible trainer in Sydney.’
With four children and a growing number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Frank tells us how much he adores his family. ‘There is well over 40 now, and I love each and every one of them equally,’ he says. ‘We share everything together, we may not agree on everything, but I love all my family.’
He also shares his love for Elaine, reflecting on 67 wonderful years of marriage. ‘She stayed at home and looked after the family while I worked long hours. She took care of our life for over 67 years,’ Frank recalls. ‘Elaine was the highlight of my life.’
Now both living at Burpengary Manor, Frank and Elaine are surrounded by a dedicated team who ensure they receive the care they deserve. In this chapter of their lives, Frank continues to treasure his family memories with his beloved Elaine, all while forming new friendships within our Burpengary Manor community.
