What's cooking at Burpengary Manor?

Find out more about the wonderful food here at Burpengary Manor.

For many of us, food is such a joyful part of our daily life, and the quality of our food contributes to our overall physical and mental well-being. At Burpengary Manor Aged Care, residents enjoy the variety of foods on the menu as crafted by our wonderful Head Chef, Stephanie Witteveen, and the kitchen team.

Stephanie is our new Head Chef here at Burpengary Manor since January 2024 and has already formed special relationships with many residents to prepare and deliver the best food at every meal.

Stephanie says that residents enjoy a variety of meals including fish and chips every Friday, as well as a delicious roast on Wednesdays and Sundays, along with other residents’ favourite weekly meals.

The menu is created by Stephanie along with dieticians and residents who express their preferences at our regular resident meetings.

Our team of chefs also work closely with the leisure and lifestyle department to create a menu for the variety of special theme days happening throughout the year. Stephanie says that it is the resident feedback that helps the kitchen team to craft the menu for special theme days, as it’s the residents who are the ones that need to enjoy the menu.

For Burpengary Manor resident, Anna Vassilimis, having built a relationship with Stephanie also helps ensure that her and other residents receive high-quality meal options as well as comfort knowing who is cooking and delivering their meals.

‘I enjoy meals at the home,’ says Anna. ‘There is a good variety and the options are great.  The meals are always fresh and hot and served on time.’

When asked if there was a particular stand out meal that she loves, Anna replies, ‘The pastas and lasagna would be my favourite meals although I am not a fussy eater and will eat anything put in front of me, I enjoy all my meals.’
